The University of Auckland is New Zealand's largest university, founded in 1883 as Auckland University College and now teaching more than 40,000 students. Its faculties cover arts and education, business and economics, creative arts and industries, engineering, law, medical and health sciences, and science, with teaching and research concentrated on three campuses in central Auckland.
