Durham University is a collegiate public research university in the cathedral city of Durham in north-east England, founded in 1832 and a member of the Russell Group. Every student belongs to one of its colleges, which provide accommodation, catering and social life alongside the academic departments, and the university is particularly known for humanities, theology, law, physics, geography and archaeology.
