Why study at The University of Western Australia?

The University of Western Australia is a public research university in Perth, established in 1911 as the state's first university and a member of the Group of Eight. Its main campus at Crawley sits on the Swan River about five kilometres from the city centre. UWA is known for its work in mining and earth sciences, engineering, agriculture, medicine and marine science.

  • Global Excellence Scholarship - annual tuition fee discount of AUD 6,000, AUD 10,000 or AUD 12,000 per year depending on equivalent ATAR or weighted average mark, worth up to AUD 48,000 over four years for undergraduates and up to AUD 24,000 over two years for postgraduates
  • International Student Award - tuition fee reduction of AUD 5,000 per year for international students from a range of selected countries, worth up to AUD 20,000 over four years of undergraduate study or AUD 10,000 over two years of postgraduate study
  • UWA Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships - 50 percent or 100 percent tuition fee reduction for exceptional international students from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, or international WACE graduates, entering selected degrees
  • Singapore Polytechnic Scholarship - AUD 12,000 per year towards selected undergraduate courses for students who have completed a diploma at a Singapore Polytechnic
  • Forrest Research Foundation PhD Scholarships - package valued at more than AUD 50,000 for outstanding international PhD students, including a stipend, accommodation at Forrest Hall and a research and travel allowance
  • Higher Degree by Research Scholarships - package covering international tuition fees, Overseas Student Health Cover and a living allowance stipend for research candidates
